Wijaya International Medical Centre (WIMC), is located in the heart of Petaling Jaya in Malaysia. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Wijaya Baru Global Berhad, WIMC made its debut in the medical sector in September 2005 and has forged ahead since then. As a boutique day-care medical centre, it provides total diagnostic services, combining cutting-edge medical facilities with patient-oriented care.

Our team of highly trained and respected specialists from various disciplines, provide referring physicians with accurate and reliable study interpretation for the treatment of cancer, thus meeting the individual needs of both patients and referring physicians, all under one roof, ie in our Centre.

WIMC is also equipped with state-of-the-art (SOTA) medical technology like the Cyberknife, and is one of the pioneers in South East Asia for non-invasive radio surgical treatment of cancer. In fact, the number of patients seeking such treatment have surpassed our expectations.

To provide radio therapy services, WIMC has the

IGRT Linear Accelerator performing advanced 2D Image Guidance with Cinematic IMRT which provides a faster, more accurate and verifiable image solution

Hybrid ONCOR with diagnostic imaging using the syngo multi-modality platform to incorporate imaging in the treatment of prostate, head and neck and lung tumors.

We have our own Cyclotron to produce FDG (radio-active glucose) which is essential for use in our PET/CT for early detection of cancer. Today, WIMC is gradually and surely making its presence known in the field of diagnostic and cancer therapy technologies.

We have just achieved our ISO 9001:2000 status and are in the process of getting our GMP status with intentions of marketing our FDG to other hospitals offering PET/CT services.

WIMC is also working on smart partnerships with other hospitals and foreign agents, to continuously invest in new technologies with intentions of enhancing and providing the latest if not the best medical service technology in Malaysia. Moreover, to render these services to countries around the region, WIMC has and will continue to engage renowned foreign medical expertise, in pursuit of achieving a sole benchmark in establishing quality, success and value in the field of medicine/technology locally and internationally.

In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2007, WIMC is opening its doors - promising exciting packages in tandem with the medical tourism sector, for both domestic and international guests.

At the moment, we have achieved amongst other things ..

• bringing in foreign specialists to share and transfer medical knowledge to our local doctors;
• treating foreign patients using CyberKnife;
• setting up our PET/CT and Cyclotron facilities ahead of time;
• training our staff to acquire the skills and abilities to handle the latest medical technology (local and foreign);
• the sponsorship of medical students; and
• ISO 9001 certification.

Our future plans are to make WIMC a Centre of Excellence, and to ultimately expand our current role not only as a cancer centre, but as THE complete Centre with the SOTA technology for crucial disciplines to provide better patient outcomes. This would include boosting smart partnerships with both foreign and local centres, to build a full-fledged hospital with fully-equipped operating theatres, a dedicated cardiac centre, and possibly a spine centre etc. These plans are already on the drawing board and will be realised as we forge ahead.
